Uranium mining in Tanzania is a relatively recent development compared to other minerals. Tanzania has known uranium deposits, with the most significant being the Mkuju River Project in the Namtumbo district of the Ruvuma region.<\/p>

The Mkuju River Project is one of Africa\u2019s largest undeveloped uranium projects, with estimated uranium reserves of around 119,000 tonnes.
